S3stat.com – A Log Analyzer for AWS

Posted in Websites

The other day I stumbled upon S3stat.com. S3STAT is a service that takes the detailed server access logs provided by Amazon’s CloudFront and Simple Storage Service (S3), and translates them into human readable statistics, reports and graphs.

S3 is a quick, simple way to reduce the disk space and bandwidth required for similar sites. You pay monthly only for the resources you use, and their prices are very fair.

Anyways, back to S3stat.com. They allow you to see logs for your Amazon Web Service (AWS). They have a reasonable price, only $5/mo after a 30-day Free Trial. You don’t have to enter any payment method, so after the 30 days, you can choose to upgrade to the paid plan, or stop using it.

S3stat.com is a great service, and if you use Amazon Web Services, it is an invaluable tool for your success.

  23. on S3 – wouldn’t buying a storage devide be a cheaper option? specially with hard disks so inexpensive these days…

    • Jamie says:

For just using it as a backup option, yes. However I use it for my website. It is a stock image site, so the site uses a lot of space. It works out to be cheaper that buying a dedicated server with more disk space.

  24. Carl says:

I need a tool like this for such a long time. Sometimes Google Analytics does not show the whole traffic and I trust server logs more. Thanks for sharing.

  25. Tom Hodkins says:

Sounds awesome. I could use this a lot, thanks for pointing this out Cheap Photo Frames

  26. Ryan says:

Its cool and simple way to reduce the disk space and bandwidth

  27. I think S3 is essential for video where you don’t want to use YouTube (with it’s corresponding TOS, Adverts and risk of getting removed video). Obviously you can use you own webhost but you may hit bandwidth limits and get your site kicked out. Not worth the risk, so Amazon is the ideal solution for video.

  28. It looks like S3stat.com is a great service. Paired up with Amazon Web Services, it’s pretty handy.

  29. Nice image service and cheap too. Good to know about s3stat service.

  30. Dave Wright says:

Another alternative that might take a bit more setting up is to use weblog expert in conjunction with allway sync. Use AS to fetch your log files then weblog expert to parse and visualise them, I think weblog expert gives better results if you want to see which specific files have been accessed

It seems to be a very helpful service and it is surely worth a try. Thanks for sharing.
